Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST) is a light touch approach that releases tension deep in the body to help relieve pain and dysfunction and thereby improve whole body health and performance.
CST helps release tensions to allow the entire body to relax and self-correct. Using a gentle touch (starting with about the weight of a small coin) practitioners evaluate and release internal tensions so freeing the central nervous system to perform at its best (and this obviously varies between people and different problems). CST helps to reduce naturally pain and stress and enhances your wellbeing.
Visceral Manipulation is similar in its gentleness to CST and helps problems with the internal organs like the liver, stomach, bowel, bladder etc. it can also be effective with easing scar tissue and adhesions in the body fascia caused by injury or operations.
Problems they may help with
- Stress and tension
- Chronic neck and back pain
- Migraines and headaches
- Jaw problems
- Emotional Tension
- Trauma, injury and scar tissue
- Scar tissues and adhesions
You do not have to be 'ill' to benefit from or to enjoy a treatment.
CST sessions can last for an hour or more. It can be used alone or integrated with other therapies to create powerful effects. What you experience from your own session is highly individual. The sessions are generally deeply relaxing and create feelings of warmth in the areas being worked on.

Lorna has treated my creaks and groans for a number of years with great success. For a period of about 18 months a severe pain in my hip following bone and soft tissue damage due to a fall prompted reliance on a walking stick. Lorna tackled the problem and within a few weeks I dispensed with the stick. She has a very friendly and caring approach, coupled with an undoubted ability to sort things out. I recommend her services to those who suffer.RK Oldham
